The Midwest CFB Weekly Report: May 3rd – May 9th

Starting today, we are introducing the Midwest CFB Weekly Report!

The goal of these posts is to capture a news item or note from all the schools in the Big Ten from the previous week. By doing this, it will allow readers to stay current with not only their programs, but those of their rivals as well.

With that said, onto the report.

Ohio State: The Buckeyes received word this week that they missed out on landing linebacker Henry To’o To’o as he transferred to Alabama.

Michigan: Michigan sees another shakeup on the staff as recent coaching hire Maurice Linquist has been hired by Buffalo as the new head coach. (Linquist was one of our picks for top five assistant coaching hires this off-season.)

Wisconsin: Wisconsin has scheduled a home and home series with Utah, set for 2028 and 2033.

Penn State: The Nittany Lions are gearing up for a full stadium this fall, but are putting in measures for limited capacity if covid-19 restrictions are not lifted by the season opener.

Northwestern: Former WVU Mountaineer and defensive end Jeffery Pooler Jr. will transfer to NU for the 2021 season.

Nebraska: The Cornhuskers see another wide receiver enter the transfer portal, this time it’s Demariyon Houston.

Illinois: Bret Bielema announced that Isaiah Williams is changing positions, from QB to WR.

Michigan State: The Spartans revoked the scholarship of 2021 recruit and signee, Steffan Johnson, after being arrested in Florida for two charges of felony extortion.

Maryland: Senior receiver Dontay Demus has caught the attention of some executives who run the Senior Bowl.

Purdue: The Boilermakers take from in-state rival Indiana in landing transfer defensive lineman, Damarjhe Lewis.

Indiana: Ticket sales for Hoosier football are rising, as the school prepares for a full stadium once more.

Minnesota: Defensive tackle, Keonte Schad, has entered the transfer portal.

Iowa: The Hawkeyes saw multiple players enter the transfer portal this past week.

Rutgers: Bucknell receiver, Brandon Sanders, has transferred into the Rutgers program.
